Merel Julia
Merel Juliá is a Broadway dancer turned actress turned philanthropist. She co-founded the Hispanic Foundation for the Arts in 1997 and created the Raúl Juliá Award for Excellence to honor and celebrate her late husband’s contributions to Latinos in the Arts. She has continued Raúl’s legacy of sponsoring scriptwriting programs in high schools, supporting young actors, and Latino performing artists, who are ready and waiting in the wings.
